Introduction

Established in 1978, SIBM today is the flagship of the Symbiosis Management Institutes. Starting from humble beginnings SIBM was ranked the 4 th best Bschool in India in the Business Today AC Neilson – ORG Marg survey in July 2006. Combining theory with practical business, classroom teaching with Management Development Programmes, SIBM offers it’s students a classic mix of academic and business knowledge.

If placements are any indication of the success of a Business School in the corporate world, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM) has definitely made its mark as can be seen from the success of the Campus Recruitment Program of 2007. 3 rd January 2007 was the day when dreams turned into reality with 210 offers being made to 143 students. There was representation from every sector ranging from FMCG, Banking & Financial Services, Consulting, IT & ITES, Manufacturing and Automobile to Consumer Durables, Retail, Media and Advertising amongst others. The entire batch was placed in a matter of 6 hours with an average salary of 8.7 Lakhs and median salary of 8 akhs.The students never had it better in terms of choice with as high as 1.45 offers per student.

International Recruitment

One of the major breakthroughs for this year was the participation of new international recruiters – Sony Gulf and Kaybee Group. Olam International continued their relationship with SIBM displaying their confidence in the students and the institute. In all 6 offers were made, the highest offer of $85,000 being made by Olam International.

Methods of Instruction

SIBM's approach to management education has been to create managers with a fund of leadership skills and a sound knowledge base with sharp business acumen to help the corporates to exploit opportunities, meet challenges and go from success to success.

Eligibility

A graduate from any statutory university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) at graduation level.

   c) Management Seats 15%
    d) Physically Handicapped 3%

2. Over and above the Sanctioned intake:
a) Jammu and Kashmiri Migrants: 2 seats per programme
