Introduction

Symbiosis Institute of International Business [SIIB] is a constituent of Symbiosis International University. SIIB was established in 1992 and is one of the top rated Business Schools in the country. It provides a strong academic foundation, overall personality development and has a strong track record of 100 % placements. SIIB strives to groom skilled professionals, equipping them with the knowledge and focused expertise to take on the challenges posed by global commerce, in the domestic and international sphere. SIIB’s mission is to prepare well-balanced, socially conscious professionals for the corporate world.

International Affiliation
SIIB has signed MoUs with International Universities for the purpose of Faculty and student exchange programs and research. An annual feature of our International Business programme is a visit to the Bremen University of Applied Sciences, Germany for four weeks in summer where select students are exposed to international business practices in Europe, every year since 2002. As a part of our tie up with Oakland University – School of Administration at Michigan, USA, Faculty from both institutions have conducted full – fledged courses on reciprocal basis every year since 2004. A student exchange programme is also a part of this tie – up.

Infrastructure & Facilities

SIIB has excellent administrative and academic facilities. Both full time and visiting faculty members have substantial professional and academic experience. The Academic Block has spacious Classrooms which have state of the art audio visual equipments, Conference Halls, Discussion Rooms, Fully equipped computer labs, wi - fi Internet connectivity and an excellent library having access to more than 28,215 books, 263 journals and 2556 CDs on a wide variety of Management subjects.

There is a separate hostel for boys and girls along with mess, canteen, swimming pool and a state of art health club providing facility of Gym, Aerobics, Yoga and Meditation, which are all a part of the curriculum.

 
Courses Offered by SIIB:

MBA – International Business (intake 120 students)
  
 This 2-year full time residential course of SIIB has the combined advantage of a General Management education along with a   
    focus on International Business Management. In the 2 nd year students do a regular specialization in Marketing, Finance, HR or
    Supply Chain Management covering both the domestic and international aspects.

    The design of the course is rigorous requiring intensive application. Continuous evaluation, emphasis on self-study, numerous   
    projects and presentations and deadlines for assignments ensure that time management skills are developed. There is a fine   
    blend of theoretical and practical inputs through full time faculty and faculty drawn from Industry, to ensure that students are   
    perfectly industry - ready in their chosen functional areas.

 
    Basic Eligibility Criterion (for all Categories)
    Graduate of any statutory University with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST Candidates). Graduate Passing degree                 examination by part-time /correspondence course or in more than one sitting are not eligible.
 
    Method of Instruction
    Lectures, Practical exercises, Business Simulation, Group Projects and Presentations, Case Studies, Workshops, Guest lectures,     Summer Training, Live Projects, Organizing events etc.

MBA - Agribusiness
(intake 60 students)
    This 2-year full time residential course of SIIB is a leading course in Agribusiness, which trains students in the commercial      
    aspects of Agriculture so that they are trained to work as professionals in companies or to start their own Agribusiness units.

    The MBA - AB course equips the student with management techniques that enable him / her to make rapid strides in the world
    of agribusiness. The first year has courses in Marketing, Finance, Logistics and General Management. The second year of the   
  
 program exposes the student to specific and more evolved areas of agribusiness such as commodity trading, agri exports and
    procurement etc.

    Basic Eligibility Criterion (for all Categories)
    Candidate must be a graduate in Agri Sciences or agri related discipline. Bachelors Degree with at least 50% [ For SC / ST
    categories : 45 %] aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA. The bachelor degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the
    candidate must entail a minimum of 3 years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2). Candidates   
  
 passing degree examination by part time / correspondence or in one sitting are not eligible. Students who are in the final year
    of their bachelor degree education may also apply, admission of such candidate will be provisional and will be cancelled in case
    of non fulfillment of the stated requirements.

    OR

    Non-Agri graduate with minimum 50% [For SC / ST categories: 45 %] aggregate marks having work experience in
    agribusiness.

Career Prospects and Placements

1] MBA – International Business
The MBA - IB students have the dual advantage of getting jobs in Domestic and International Business. Last year the domestic average salary was Rs. 7.55 lakhs / annum and the highest salary was Rs.11.75 lakhs / annum. The students are well placed in a wide spectrum of companies in, Insurance & Banking, Software, Pharmaceuticals, Consultancy, Manufacturing, FMCG and Logistics.

2] MBA - Agribusiness
For the MBA - AB students placement opportunities exist in reputed agribusiness companies, agriculture marketing companies, food processing industry & financial institutions who deal in agri - finance. The course encourages students to start their own agribusiness enterprise. Last year the domestic average salary was Rs. 5.2 lakhs/annum and the highest salary was Rs.7.6 lakhs/annum.
