Introduction
Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies (SIMS) is a constituent of the prestigious Symbiosis International (Deemed University).
The purpose of the fulltime Master in Business Administration (MBA) program at SIMS is to provide management students with a critical understanding of management and organizational related skills which will provide the basis for informed decision making in their future careers.
The institute is an ISO 9001: 2000 quality certified management institute.
As a constituent of Symbiosis International (Deemed University), SIMS has been accredited with an 'A' Grade by NAAC.

Facilities and Information Technology
SIMS has an integrated campus with all learning facilities requisite of a contemporary business school.
Batch interaction is a key learning experience at a Business School, and so SIMS is housed in a fully residential campus with separate hostel facilities for both men and women with full in-house catering facilities.
We have an on-campus Guesthouse for faculty and relatives of students.
The entire campus is WiFi networked with internet broadband connection.
The excellent sports and fitness amenities including the gym, yoga, aerobics, the swimming pool and other light games invite students to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The academic block conspicuous by its blue-green dome is the hub of educational and brain storming activity. The block houses well-designed and fully equipped classrooms for intimate class interaction besides discussion and audiovisual rooms.
We have automated web accessible Library with over 15,838 contemporary books, foreign journals & magazines, large number of on-line e-journals & magazines and access to corporate databases.
Large air-conditioned auditorium with attached green rooms. The modern air-conditioned auditorium can seat up to 400 people.
The campus features arresting architecture in an environment friendly green setting with infrastructure and facilities well in excess of statutory requirements. SIMS is ranked 9th for Infrastructure by "Businessworld" in their 'B-schools' issue of 25th May 2009, and overall 23rd rank in their 2009 ratings

Programmes offered
Full-time 2 year programme Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Symbiosis International (Deemed University). (Admissions will be based on SNAP Scores, GD and PI)
Curriculum
The integrated lock-step curriculum of SIMS spreads over 2 academic years and is divided into 4 semesters. Programme design ensures that academic inputs are practice oriented with emphasis on application of principles, tools and concepts to meet challenges and problems faced in today's organizations. Students learn to take decisions critically and analytically, taking into account the business considerations and ethical implications of these decisions.
M.B.A. (Marketing/Finance/Operations/ICT/IB/Retail Management / PM & HR)
The two-year full time program is designed to provide a strong foundation in operational facets of management. It allows areas of specialization in Marketing/Finance/ICT/ Operations/ IB/ Retail Management/ PM and HR through a Major-Minor format.
General management orientation Students opt for their area of specialization at the end of the 1st semester. This choice is moderated through domain test with cap for class depending upon subscription.
Eligibility
The eligibility criterion for admission to SIMS is 50% or more marks in aggregate of fulltime bachelor's level degree through 10+2+3/4 mode, from a statutory university. Candidates completing their final examinations of bachelor's degree by 30th June 2010 can also apply provisionally.
Intake: 300 students per batch.
Reservation for Defence / Industry sponsorship: As per MOU with Ministry of Defence, Govt of India, vacancies for full-time programmes are as under:
Defence Open Category: 80% vacancies for MBA allotted to dependants of armed forces personnel.
Defence Special Category: 10% vacancies for MBA allotted to dependents of armed forces personnel affected in War, Counter-Insurgency or War-like operations.
Industry Sponsored Category: 10% vacancies for Industry Sponsored / civilian candidates.
Officers of armed forces on Study Leave: As authorized by respective Service HQs.
