Programme Profile :

The SIOM Operations Management specialization empowers each engineer with sharp engineering and scientific capabilities along with smart business management disciplines. The students are dressed to tackle planning, development, and implementation tribulations that their organization might confront. The curriculum deals with topics such as supply chain management, project management, technology management, modelling dynamic systems, and quality management

Objective of the Programme :

MBA (Operations Management) is designed exclusively for Engineers to meet the needs of operations expertise and competencies in diverse sectors of economy viz. Manufacturing, Service, IT, FMCG, E Commerce and Consulting. The objective is to develop amongst the students, in-depth strategic understanding of operations systems, their components, contributions, and interactions with other functional areas and the analytical tools necessary to address both strategic and tactical issues especially catering to the dynamic global business networks addressing the function of efficient Operations processes and systems elated by the not only manufacturing and services but also the booming e commerce sector.

The curriculum motivates the students to understand the business environment holistically and tries to impart problem solving skills with respect to the core values and changing times of the market. 

• Programme Profile : 

The SIOM MBA in AOM deals with Operations management topics with the flavour of Agro based Industries. Subjects include Agro commodity markets, Processing and Value Chain in Agriculture, Agri Supply Chain Management, Advances in Agriculture, Agro procurement Management, Warehouse Management and Quality Management for Agro Products and many more with managerial underpinnings. Impetus on Entrepreneurship is also one of the intents and hence project based learning in each semester is part of the programme structure.

• Objective of the Programme:
  MBA (Operations Management) is designed exclusively to meet the needs of operations expertise and competencies in Agribusiness and allied sector that will cater to Agro based processing, Technology, Retailing, Ecommerce and Consulting. Technology revolution coupled with changing global norms and increased global competitiveness, invites a tremendous need for professional courses in Agribusiness Management. The MBA- Agri Operations Management Programme could thus be a response to this growing need for professionals, who can contribute to, and engineer the agribusiness revolution.

 The objective is

SIOM, in collaboration with the Durham University Business School, UK (Triple Crown accredited), will offer a Dual Degree Programme: Master of Business Administration (Operations Management) and MSc Management (Supply Chain Logistics). Durham is ranked the world’s top 100 University since 2010 and 64th in the world for Employer Reputation. This initiative marks a strategic step in SIOM’s globalisation roadmap, aligned with the vision to nurture globally competent, ethically grounded, and innovation-driven leaders in operations and supply chain domains. The programme will give students global exposure and provide future-ready learning opportunities. It will equip them with the emerging practices in International Operations and SCM, combining an understanding of Indian industry dynamics with a European and global supply chain perspective. The dual degree programme includes two semesters of study in India and two semesters at Durham. Semesters 1 and 4 will be at SIOM, and Semesters 2 and 3 will be at Durham. A candidate who has complete qualification from any foreign University must obtain an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
