SNAP Test Structure and Guidelines 2023: A Complete Manual for Symbiosis MBA Aspirants

Symbiosis National Aptitude Online Test (SNAP) is a national level MBA Entrance Test conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University (SIU). It is a pathway to some of the top MBA colleges in the country. 

SNAP 2023 is to be conducted for admissions into the upcoming batch of MBA (2023 - 2025). This year’s MBA entrance exam is witnessing a lot of changes. 

One of the major alterations is that the test will be conducted three times on different dates starting from 10th December 2023, 17th December 2023, and 22nd December 2023. 

A candidate can appear for upto three tests for SNAP 2023. If a candidate appears for more than one test, the higher score will be considered for the final percentile calculation and there will be no normalization.

Like last year, the examination will contain 60 multiple choice questions divided into three sections: General English, Analytical and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency. The SNAP 2023 test will consist of only MCQs this year. 

Students will be granted 1 mark for every correct answer while every incorrect answer will garner 25 percent negative marks.

The application fee is Rs. 2250/- for each attempt of SNAP 2023. The programme/college fee (Rs.1000/ per programme/college) is to be paid only once.

SNAP Test 2023 will be conducted on three different dates. Please note these dates carefully:

SNAP 2023 Exam Pattern Highlights

• Sections: General English, Analytical and Logical Reasoning and Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency

• Exam Duration: 60 minutes ( 1 hour )
• No. of Questions: 60 

From this year onwards Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test will carry 60 questions. In 2019, candidates were required to solve 115 questions in a 120-minutes SNAP exam.

• Types of Questions: MCQ

Unlike the previous years where SNAP exam was a mix of Normal Questions (MCQs) and Special questions (non-MCQs), this year candidates will have to only solve 60 objective type questions.

• Total Marks: 60
• Examination Mode: Computer Based Test which will be conducted at Test Centres
• Negative Marking: Yes

SNAP 2023 will not see any differential marking scheme for various sections and composition of questions. The normal questions will carry 1 marks each and for each incorrect option, ¼ mark will be deducted. There will be no individual time limit for each section.

• SNAP 2023 Exam Fee: Rs.2250 / per attempt ( max 3 )

While the application fee will be Rs. 1950/- for each attempt of SNAP 2023. The programme/college fee (Rs.1000/ per programme/college) is to be paid only once.

Following is the revised exam pattern for SNAP 2023:

The SNAP exam duration has been reduced from 120 minutes to 60 minutes. Also, the number of questions have been reduced from 110 to 60. The SNAP 2023 test will have only MCQs.

SNAP 2023 Selection Process

A candidate will be shortlisted for further admission process (GE-PI) based on her/his overall SNAP Percentile. The further admission process is conducted separately for each programme by each Institute.

Category-wise cut off for Merit List and Wait List will be displayed on the website of the respective Institutes. Waitlist movement will depend upon the vacant seats available.

SNAP 2023: Test Cities

• The SNAP test 2023 will be conducted in 84 cities across India.
• Test Centers will be allocated on the basis of the availability of slots.
• Once the payment for SNAP Online Test is made, no changes in the test centres will be entertained by the authorities.
• The final allotted SNAP Exam Center will be mentioned on the admit card.

Must-Know Guidelines for SNAP 2023

• SNAP Test Admit Card should be printed from the SNAP website. The Admit Card will be available from December 04,2023 (Monday) for SNAP Test 01, December 09, 2023 (Saturday) for SNAP Test 02 and SNAP Test 03
• Do not forget to carry the Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof to the Test Centre at the time of the test.
• Admit Card along with Photo Identity proof should be carried to the Test Centre at the time of the test.
• Please preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further admission processes (GE-PI).
• If the Authenticated Admit card is lost, a duplicate Admit Card will not be issued.
• The candidate is advised to locate the allocated test centre at least a day in advance to avoid any issue on the day of the test.
• Travel and staying (if applicable) arrangements will need to be done by the candidate.
• Candidates with a disability must ensure their scribe has relevant documents for identification.
• No cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in calculators/memory or any electronics gadgets will be allowed in the examination hall.
• Any malpractice during the test will forfeit her/his chance of being considered for admission and will be debarred from receiving SNAP Test 2023 scores.
• The scores published by the STS shall be final and shall not be subject to any appeal or revaluation.
