Based on your overall SNAP test percentile, you will be called for further rounds consisting of Group Exercise and Personal Interaction (GE-PI).

How to prepare for the SNAP Exam 2025 Entrance Test?

The General English section will only have 15 questions. The Analytical & Logical Reasoning section will have 25 questions, worth one mark. Develop these few practices in a part of your daily routine to make a command over English languages:

  • Reading Newspapers
  • Reading books
  • Watching English movies/ news
  • Participating or taking up quizzes online.

Tips for Reading Comprehension -

  • The best long-term plan to deal with long passages is to maintain your attention and focus. It can be only developed with good practice.
  • Try reading as much as it will help in enhancing your understanding in addition to the areas you are familiar with. Read online journals, books, magazines and newspapers.
  • Moreover, while practicing keep a track of the time you take to solve a reading comprehension and make sure it gets reduced day by day. Reading comprehension is the only part of the English section which will take time and a good reading speed is always a bonus.
  1. Concentrate on the opening and closing paragraphs
Most of the passages will be short, but one or two might belong. In case there is a shortage of time, read the opening and closing paragraphs. This is because the first and the last paragraphs contain the passage's main idea.
  2. Use context
If there is a question based on a particular line, read at least two to three sentences before and after the line, to comprehend/understand what it is trying to convey. This will help you write the answer with better accuracy.
  3. Improve your Vocabulary
Try increasing your vocabulary. It is extremely vital to build on your core language skills in order to develop into an affluent reader. Keep reading editorials and make a note of new words. Try to use them in your conversations.

Preparation Tips for Verbal Ability

This part will test candidates’ capability in English grammar and language.

Please remember, grammar is the foundation of a language. Your fluency in grammar will make other parts of the Verbal Ability section like reading comprehension, prose much easier.

  • Clear your English grammar basics to solve the sentence correction and error detection questions.
  • Practice questions related to reported speech and tenses.
  • Identify the words you are not familiar with and try to understand their meaning and usage.
  • Watch documentaries with subtitles. This will enhance knowledge of spoken English.
  • Memorize idioms and idiomatic expressions.
  • Time management is imperative to get a good score. Reading and practising is the key to acing the Verbal Ability section.
  • Try talking to people in English. You might feel shy at first and make a lot of mistakes. But soon you’ll discover that with more talking, the confidence, as well as the accuracy, shall increase

The importance of the 2nd section - Analytical & Logical Reasoning lies in the fact that it tests your critical thinking abilities. Critical reasoning is a test of your mind to think rationally, to analyse and comprehend the given statement and reach a conclusion based on your understanding. It is vital that you learn how to tackle such questions if you want to do well in the SNAP test.

Hopefully, the following tips will assist you in enhancing your critical reasoning abilities:

  • Frequently practice different kinds of reasoning problems in a time-bound manner.
  • Try to solve puzzles to sharpen your reasoning skills.
  • In reasoning, it is a thumb rule not to assume any information.
  • Identification and logical analysis of your answers would show whether your thinking is following the right path or not.
  • You can scribble a chart or picture to depict the information provided in the question.
  • Make sure you should read and reread all the response choices carefully before choosing one.
  • Do not make any assumptions to choose your options but rather base your answer only on facts.
  • Even though this is a scoring section, remember this section is at par in terms of marks with the other sections. So make sure you balance your time with the other sections in the test.
